THOMAS - Legislative Information from the Library of Congress

When legislative activity occurs almost seemingly around the clock it is hard to remain an informed citizen. However, there is a freely accessible tool that was mandated by the 104th Congress and hosted by the Library of Congress that can ease your legislative information overload.

THOMAS (think Thomas Jefferson) offers information on Bills, Resolutions, Congressional Activity, Schedules, Treaties, Presidential Nominations, and other important information from Congress. Coverage includes content from 101st Congress to the present Congressional Session.

With a user friendly interface searching by Bill Number [e.g. H.R.1234 or S.1234] or Keyword/phrase yields results that are clustered based on relevancy and date or congressional session. Legislative documents are available for viewing and in both HTML and PDF formats. Users are able to download the full text PDF from the Government Printing Office (GPO) site.

For more information about this and other great services please visit the Library of Congress website at http://www.loc.gov/.
